The Targeted Independent Practice: Spelling program provides 102 diagnostically-matched spelling pattern worksheets to help your students master all common sound-spellings via independent practice. Most students will not have mastered many of the spelling patterns in the program's Diagnostic Spelling Assessment.

The worksheets are designed for independent practice. Students read the FOCUS section and complete the SORT and JUMBLE sections. After self-correcting to learn from their own mistakes, students complete the RHYME or SEARCH and WRITE sections (the formative assessments). The teacher grades the formative assessments to determine mastery and records progress on the mastery matrix.
