About these programs
Differentiated Spelling Instruction is a full-year spelling patterns program with its own edition for each grade from 3 to 8, in American English or Canadian English. Each edition has weekly grade-level word lists, spelling sorts, and tests built on spelling patterns, so students learn to apply the rules of spelling rather than memorize themed word lists.
Every edition also includes the Diagnostic Spelling Assessment and the remedial worksheets that match it. Students practice only the earlier spelling patterns they have not yet mastered, so they catch up while they keep up with grade-level instruction. The Canadian English editions teach Canadian spellings and note where American English differs.
